A Cease and Desist Letter is a legal document that an individual or business can send to another party causing harm to warn them that if they do not stop the mentioned actions (possibly defamation, harassment, slander, etc), further action and potential legal ramifications will be taken. Let’s review one sample using a cease and desist letter template.
Cease and Desist letters are usually written by an attorney. They lay out the damages that have occurred, what immediate action the party expects, and the deadline by which action needs to be taken, for example, stop slander, harassment, etc. They often end with the consequences of what will happen if the listed actions continue.
