Overview

Benjamin Turshen is the founder of Solace Estate Planning, where he helps successful Ohio families and business owners protect what they have built and ensure it transfers with clarity, control, and intention.

His practice focuses on sophisticated estate planning designed to keep families out of probate court, protect assets from long term care costs and Medicaid spend down, shield wealth from lawsuits and creditor exposure, reduce estate tax risk where applicable, and create clear succession plans for closely held businesses.

Benjamin works with professionals, entrepreneurs, executives, and multi generational families who understand that wealth without structure creates risk. His goal is simple: when the unexpected happens, a spouse is not forced into urgent legal decisions, children are not navigating court proceedings during a time of grief, and a business does not stall due to lack of planning.

Before founding Solace Estate Planning, Benjamin practiced at internationally recognized law firms including Paul Hastings LLP, Jones Day, and Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver and Jacobson LLP. He advised institutional investors and global financial firms on complex structures involving billions of dollars in assets. That experience informs how he designs estate plans today, with technical precision, long term flexibility, and careful attention to detail.

Benjamin earned his B.S., magna cum laude, from Boston University, his M.A. from Columbia University, and his J.D. from St. John’s School of Law. He has called Cleveland home since 2018, where he lives with his wife and two children.

If you are seeking an experienced Ohio estate planning attorney to protect your family, your business, and the legacy you have worked hard to build, schedule a confidential consultation to begin creating a plan built for stability and long term control.
